Mama can you tell me whats going on? Mama can you tell me where the sun has gone? A knock at the door A stranger's allure A complete disregard to the lump in my throat Now I can make shapes out of the darkness I can smell glue in the corners of the cracks Fate intertwined A person to find Me indisposed for one mistake Deary Me, Deary Me Whats become of me? Deary Me I'm as blind as a bat can be. As lonesome as a ghost can be As helpless as a child can be Deary Me So what am I supposed to learn from this? What if I don't wanna be saved by a kiss? I reject being saved I welcome the grave You don't win a heart as a creep You don't kiss a girl in her sleep Now I can make shapes out of the darkness I can smell the glue in the corners of the cracks Forever encased Subdued and laced Imprisoned in this coma with my mistake Deary Me, Deary Me Whats become of me? Deary Me Fates mistreated me As cruel as a child can be As crushing as the past can be Enslaving as grief can be

It’s just a small built country town Where everything’s stained red or brown There’s some feelings there from some small kid shows got messy hair He likes the sweetest girl in town She likes dresses and she likes hair dyes She likes chasing butterflies She likes some boy from grade 5 he’s always got his head in the sky She’s having troubles wondering why Because his aftershave smells sweet And when he walks he looks at his feet And when he eats he chokes and he laughs at his own little jokes He makes her smiles, whenever they meet Year 12 and its Valentine’s Day Cards from almost every guy She wonders deep inside, if he likes me, wouldn’t he write? She stares at him while he stares at the sky Then she gets up from her seat Walks to the teenage boy who sees her then looks down to his feet She stands in front of him and at that she writes his name in the sand Tells him why she likes him while she holds his hand She says your aftershave smells sweet When you walk, you look at your feet And when you eat you choke, you laugh at your own little jokes And then he smiles, takes a moment to speak He says your perfume smells so sweet You got little hands, and you got little feet You got the fashion sense, you look so pretty with your hair and your dress You make me smile whenever we meet

Let me tell you about a place I fear most of all the centre of the hourglass where the sand needs to fall One grain at a time, just standing in line Scared I'm the next one to fall Like an overloaded tire swing, I was beginning to crack So I found my new home, on a railroad track My toothbrush and my pillow in a potato sack Changed my name to Railroad Jack Now I'm a liar I'm a thief, I get no relief From mountain to mountain, sunrise in the east When I awake, I remember my place Tomorrow's just another mistake Eli the pale guy, a God fearing man He's got a nail for a tooth, he's got a bucket for a hand Been doing this as long as anyone can Says he'd never change a thing Big Mac the haystack, a complicated guy An hour after wedding, he run from his wife Repeating those vowels, made him feel hog tied Left his ring in the middle of the night Now I'm a liar I'm a thief, I get no relief From mountain to mountain, sunrise in the east When I awake, I remember my place Tomorrow's just another mistake My friends are my bed, my friends are my light I know when I'm dead, they'll be there by my side Telling stories and such, "He never wanted too much, Just a bed, and a bucket and a ride" I'll be wearing these boots for most of my life If you're a fellow recluse, I'll see you by a campfire Share an ear of corn We'll try to stay warm, find shelter from oncoming storms Now I'm a liar I'm a thief, I get no relief From mountain to mountain,sSunrise in the east When I awake, and I remember my place Tomorrow's just another mistake Now I'm a liar I'm a thief, I get no relief From mountain to mountain, sunrise in the east When I awake, and I remember my place Tomorrow's just another mistake Tomorrow's just another mistake You know sometimes I find it hard to breathe

I've been waking early, sweating when it's cold Because a guilty mind can eat away your soul Every time a shot goes off I cower to the floor Living with my back against the wall Like a cat rattles a cage Destroys the will of that little bird My hands are shaking like a rattlesnake What becomes of a cowboy who's lost his nerve? I've been seeing preachers and I keep on getting told That devils got my everlasting soul But I'll keep on sending prayers, and I'll keep on selling lies 'til I can't even look a child in the eyes Like a mouse caught by the tail My heart is beating through my chest I'd try suicide but I know I'd only fail What becomes of a cowboy who's lost his nerve? I always have this same dream where I'm lying in the dirt And these vultures they keep picking at my guts Then I wake up and I'm crying and I'm punching on the walls Out of everyone, why have I lived on? I see death walking to my door I feel the cold of his breath all over me And I curse his eyes as he walks away What pleasures to do you get from taunting me? Like a cat rattles a cage Destroys the will of that little bird My hands are shaking like a rattlesnake What becomes of a cowboy who's lost his nerve?

Is this a game and someone's controlling me? I must confess I do some things that is not really me First I'm over-confident and then I start to speak Thats when information leaks, and problems get unique I see you pushing the grooves, The cracks upon your face The T.V's on, it's taking my attention away Everythings temporary That's why it's momentary bits of concentration If I could only grasp it, a little longer lasting Think what I could do if I sustained a thought or two I see you pushing the grooves The cracks upon your face The radio's on, I'm sure I've heard that song before Your lips are on the move What are you trying to say?
